Science teacher - Manchester - Summer term A dedicated and passionate Science Teacher is required to work at a popular secondary school in Manchester. The role will start after the Easter break and will continue for the full summer term until the end of the current academic year. This position is open to ECTs as well as experienced science teachers. You will be required to teach science to key stage 3 & 4 classes and become fully involved within the department & school, like a permanent member of staff, and attend departmental meetings when required, and be available for parents' evenings as well as planning and delivering captivating, high standard lessons that will stretch the pupils in their learning. It would be advantageous if you have previously delivered sessions in a science based after school club or revision sessions, however, this is not essential. CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS: Location Manchester Position Science Teacher (KS3 & 4) Type of work Full time Start date April 2025 Likely Duration 1 term Contract type Temporary Minimum rate of pay from GBP162.31 per day. Hours 8:30am 4pm EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS: Degree educated with a good classification, preferably in science connected subject. Secondary QTS (PGCE, SCITT, B. Ed, QTS, etc) in science Previous experience working with young people (which we can reference) Experience of teaching in a Secondary School (which we can reference) Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, we can provide the training) Up to date Prevent awareness training issued in the last 3 years (essential, again, we can provide the training) Up to date behaviour management & FGM training (essential, however, training can be provided). TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST: Hold Right to Work in the UK Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application at a cost of GBP45.80.
