Tradewind are recruiting for a Secondary Teaching Assistant on behalf of an established and well known high school in the central Manchester area for children with Social, Emotional or Mental Health needs (SEMH)!

To join us and be successful in this school based Secondary Teaching Assistant role in Manchester you will need to:

  • Have an enhanced DBS certificate (or be happy to apply for a new one).
  • Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable).
  • Minimum of two professional references.
  • Provide a CV with a full history from your education until present.
  • Have the legal right to work in the UK.

The job:

  • Secondary Teaching Assistant at an SEMH high school in the Manchester area.
  • Full time, Monday to Friday.
  • 8:30am - 3:45pm each day.
  • Could turn permanent for the right person.
  • Pay up to £100/day DOE.
  • Paid PAYE via Tradewind, we don't use umbrella companies
  • Equal pay to perm staff
  • Supporting students aged 11-16.
  • All children have an EHCP for special needs including SEMH and associated needs such as Autism, ADHD or SpLD.
  • It will be your role to build relationships with your pupils, to understand their interests, triggers and obstacles to learning and help them to overcome them.
  • You will learn new skills and develop as a specialist SEMH Secondary Teaching Assistant.
  • The school has strong links with outside agencies, parents and other schools and as such they are looking for a team player who can build relationships with other adults as well as pupils.
  • Easily accessible by bus, car, tram & train with a short walk at the end.
