Your main responsibilities may also include:

  • Conduct regular patrols throughout the shopping centre to deter and detect criminal activity.
  • Respond swiftly and effectively to security incidents, including theft, vandalism, anti-social behaviour, and public disturbances.
  • Work closely with emergency services and law enforcement agencies when required.
  • Assist in implementing the centre's counter-terrorism strategy by maintaining awareness of potential threats and taking appropriate action when necessary.
  • Provide excellent customer service, assisting shoppers and visitors with directions and information.
  • Enforce the centre's policies, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Prepare accurate incident reports and daily logs, ensuring detailed records of any security issues.
  • Act as a visible presence to deter criminal activity and offer reassurance to visitors.
  • Participate in regular training and development sessions, including counterterrorism and emergency response training.

To succeed in this role you will need the following:

  • Valid SIA Door Supervisor or Close Protection Licence (essential).
  • First Aid at Work certification.
  • Previous experience in a security role, preferably in a large retail or shopping centre environment. Ex Police or military is advantageous.
  • Strong awareness of counter-terrorism measures and protocols.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to respond swiftly and efficiently to security incidents.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays.
  • A strong sense of integrity and responsibility, with a commitment to maintaining a secure environment.
