- Be confident in delivering informal and formal interventions, taking statements from victims of ASB, and instructing solicitors
- Be comfortable engaging with people face to face, as well as visiting residents and businesses.
- Have an understanding and knowledge, and ideally, of the practical application of the tools and powers within the ASB Crime and Policing Act 2014.
- Be competent in enforcing legislation which can include issuing verbal warnings and/or legal action.
- Confidently explain their enforcement decisions and deal with any challenges politely and professionally.
- Be motivated with excellent communication skills with a strong customer focus.
- Have skills that enable you to effectively communicate with other professionals, victims, witnesses and ASB perpetrators.
- Demonstrate active listening, empathy and assertiveness, with the ability to lead on responding to community safety issues in your area.
- To be able to cover a large geographical patch, and to undertake visits to businesses, homes and public areas.
- Awareness and understanding of key ASB legislation and its practical application
- Confidence and assertiveness to challenge and instruct solicitors.
- Ideally a car driver (as you will be required to cover a large geographical patch)
