Social Work Team ManagerCared For ChildrenLocation: ManchesterRate: 46.00

We are looking for an experienced team manager in the cared for children team. Experience in this field of social work is not essential and what we are looking for is understanding of risk and safeguarding. Ensuring strategy meetings are completed in a timely manner and S47 enquiries are undertaken. There will be a real focus on updated assessments for our children to review the plan for them - either safe rehabilitation home, to connected carers and/or review of their current plan in residential home and if we need to find alternative options to provide them with better outcomes in their adult life.

Enthusiasm and passion for our looked after children is key and wanting the best for them is the over riding driving force in the role to support and develop social workers in ensuring safeguarding policies are followed, children's voices are heard and their needs understood through assessments.

  • DIPSW or equivalent qualification in Social Work
  • Social Work England registration
  • Enhanced and in date DBS certificate.
  • Excellent communication skills and be able to make good decisions based on information available.
  • Can work alone and within/contribute to a team/multi-agency set ups
  • Possess knowledge of service needs.
  • Competent IT skills and be able to navigate electronic file/recording systems.
  • Can write clear, concise, and robust assessment/reports/files.
  • Have a flexible approach to work and working hours when the need arises
