The Role:
Are you passionate about empowering young people to reach their full potential? We are seeking enthusiastic Youth Engagement Workers to support young individuals in Oldham and Rochdale. You will play a vital role in helping them overcome barriers, gain new skills, and secure opportunities in education, employment, or training (EET). Your efforts will help ensure their placements and courses are sustainable for long-term success.

Duties:

  • Engage and identify young people aged 15-19 (up to 24 with SEND or healthcare plans).
  • Build strong relationships with schools, colleges, training providers, youth centres, and statutory services to promote the programme.
  • Provide tailored, holistic support to help young people break down barriers to learning and work.
  • Assist individuals in identifying new educational or employment opportunities that align with their skills and aspirations.
  • Work closely with young people to set SMART goals, ensuring measurable progress and personal development.
  • Manage a diverse caseload, regularly reporting on interventions and outcomes.
  • Maintain ongoing communication to ensure that placements or courses are progressing successfully.


Required Skills:

  • Previous experience working with young people aged 15-19 (up to 24 with SEND/healthcare plans) in an educational, employment, or support setting.
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people and helping them overcome personal and professional challenges.
  • Strong ability to build rapport quickly and establish trust with young people facing complex barriers.
  • Experience managing a caseload, setting SMART targets, and delivering tailored support for individual needs.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with young people, professionals, and stakeholders.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills to juggle multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.


Due to the nature of this role, you will need to undertake an enhanced DBS check and there will be regular travel across the region so access to your own vehicle is essential.
