This fast-growing SME is looking for a new Software Engineer to join their dynamic team in Manchester.

My client is a leading provider of expert advice and solutions within the engineering industry, where this role specialises in developing software for commercial applications.

The responsibilities include:

  • Designing, developing and maintaining software for scientific applications
  • Collaboration between departments, utilising knowledge of science and engineering
  • Writing code in C++ and C# for implementation of scientific algorithms
  • Optimising software performance
  • Test and debug software
  • Documentation of software designs, algorithms and usage

Ideal candidates will have:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Chemical Engineering, Software Engineering or similar
  • Experience developing scientific software
  • Communication skills and the ability to work within a team
  • Knowledge of parallel computing and multithreading
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence
  • Experience with virtual control systems, e.g. Bitbucket (minimum Git)
