Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) required:

Qualiteach North-West are delighted to be working alongside a specialist school for children with autism and other complex needs based in South West Manchester, who are seeking a HLTA to join their bustling, lively and close-knit team. Based in a school where pupils have a real love of learning, this school are seeking a passionate member of staff who can bring expertise in SEND support and a commitment to pupils’ academic development.

Key responsibilities:

  • Working with small groups of children or teaching of whole classes, under the direction of the class teacher.
  • Leading other support staff in ensuring high quality support for children on the Inclusion Register as well as other groups of children being supported in the classroom.
  • Reporting to the class teacher and SENDCo, creating a 'joined up’ approach to the support of pupils with a variety of needs including learning, behavioural, communication, social, sensory or physical difficulties and medical needs.
  • Post holders will support the school to fulfil its responsibilities under the SEN Code of Practice.

Previous experience working in schools or supporting special educational needs is desirable. A Child and Adult DBS on the update service is great too but don’t worry, we can help with that if you do not have one! Additional information about this role is available on request - so please feel free to apply! A driving license is also required for this role.
