Tradewind Recruitment are looking for a SEND Learning Support Assistant (LSA) for a secondary school in Trafford. This role is available to start ASAP, and we are looking for someone who is eager to support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a thriving educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

As an SEND LSA, you will be integral in providing tailored support to students, helping them to overcome challenges and engage fully with their learning. Your duties will include:

  • Working closely with students with a variety of SEND, including but not limited to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), learning difficulties, and emotional and behavioural needs.

  • Supporting students both in and outside of the classroom, offering one-to-one assistance or working in small groups to facilitate learning.

  • Assisting teachers in delivering differentiated lessons to ensure students with SEND have access to the full curriculum.

  • Helping to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and working with the wider SEND team to monitor student progress.

  • Promoting a positive, inclusive learning environment by encouraging students to develop their social, emotional, and academic skills.

  • Providing personal care and assistance with daily routines if required.

The Ideal Candidate:
  • Experience working with students with SEND, particularly in a secondary school setting, is highly desirable.

  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive individual who can adapt to the diverse needs of students with SEND.

  • A good understanding of SEND strategies and how to apply them in the classroom to ensure all students achieve their potential.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals.

  • A flexible and resourceful approach to overcoming challenges and promoting positive student outcomes.

  • A DBS check (or be willing to undergo one) and references that demonstrate your suitability for working with children.
