We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Teaching Assistant to work with a Year 1 pupil who has Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). The role is based in a supportive primary school, and we are looking for someone who has previous experience working with children with ASC to provide tailored support and help the pupil thrive academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one support to a Year 1 pupil with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).

  • Assist with the pupil's learning, social interactions, and emotional development.

  • Implement strategies to support the pupil's individual needs, working closely with the class teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator).

  • Use appropriate behavior management techniques and adapt learning activities to ensure the pupil can fully engage.

  • Create a positive and nurturing environment, promoting the pupil's confidence and independence.

Ideal Candidate:
  • Previous experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), particularly within a primary school setting.

  • A patient, understanding, and proactive approach to supporting pupils with additional needs.

  • Knowledge of ASC-specific strategies, including communication aids, sensory support, and behavior management techniques.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals involved in the pupil's support.

  • A genuine passion for supporting children to reach their full potential.
