SEN Teaching Assistant Job in Manchester

Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Manchester

Position: Temporary with the potential to become permanent

At Hays Education, we work closely with our extensive network of schools to fill exciting and challenging teaching assistant roles in Manchester and surrounding areas. We are seeking a motivated and determined individual to join the provision team of an SEN school in Manchester, providing excellent support and care for students primarily with Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA) and Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).

Responsibilities:

  • Fostering a safe and supportive learning environment for students with a range of additional needs
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to support each student's development
  • Implementing positive behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with SEN and providing support to those with SEMH
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting students with SEN
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team
  • A proactive and caring attitude
