Position: Teaching Assistant with Sport Specialism

Are you a dedicated Sports Coach with a passion for working with children? Do you have experience in sports coaching or physical activity, and are you interested in using those skills to inspire students in the classroom and beyond? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team!

We’re looking for a Teaching Assistant (TA) who is enthusiastic about supporting students’ learning and development, with the potential to lead sports activities and PE sessions as part of your role. This position offers the opportunity to make a real difference in students’ education and well-being while fostering a love for physical activity.

Key Responsibilities:

Classroom Support: Assist the class teacher with delivering lessons, providing one-on-one and small group support to students, and helping to manage classroom behavior.
Student Engagement: Create an inclusive and supportive learning environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Sports and PE Support: Support or lead sports and physical education activities, working with students to promote teamwork, physical fitness, and positive attitudes toward health and well-being.
Extra-Curricular Sports Clubs: Help run after-school sports clubs or activities, encouraging students to stay active and develop their skills in a fun, social setting.
Personal Development: Encourage students to build confidence, resilience, and social skills through both academic support and sports-based activities.
Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff members to ensure all students have access to high-quality education and support.
Safeguarding & Well-being: Ensure that students are safe and supported, following safeguarding procedures and maintaining a focus on student well-being at all times.

What We’re Looking For:

Experience with Children: You have experience working with children, whether as a teaching assistant, in sports coaching, or another related role.
Sports Coaching Skills (Desirable): You have a background in coaching or leading sports activities and are enthusiastic about bringing these skills into the school setting.
Team Player: You enjoy working as part of a team, collaborating with teachers and other staff to create a positive learning environment.
Passion for Education & Physical Activity: You’re excited about supporting students in their academic journey while encouraging them to develop healthy lifestyles through physical activity.
Strong Communication Skills: You can effectively engage with children and staff, making learning fun, supportive, and accessible.
