Head of Professional Services
Location - Manchester (Hybrid 2/3 days onsite)
Full Time - Permanent
Reporting to COO
Up to £100k basic DOE
This is a new position within my established client that has been generated due to the growth of the business and its restructuring to align with the strategic development pillars. As such, it offers the successful candidate the opportunity to develop the team in the way they best feel meets the primary objectives of the role.
The professional services teams are responsible for delivering all customer projects, aligned with the business pillars—customer experience, secure infrastructure, secure operations, and core.
Comprising Project Managers, Project Coordinators, Installation Engineers, Project Engineers, and Technical Support Engineers, the teams are dedicated to delivering projects on time, within budget, and exceeding customer expectations.
The Head of Professional Services is responsible for developing the department to accommodate the evolving portfolio while ensuring alignment with customer requirements.
Working the Operational Senior Leadership Team, the Head of Professional services is expected to suggest, plan and implement strategic initiatives targeting operational efficiencies, customer success and margin improvement.
Holding both line management responsibility and commercial responsibility the Head of Professional Services is a senior and influential position within my clients' business.
Person Specification:
- Must have experience running a team of service professionals aligned to the delivery of SaaS, IT or communication platforms.
- Referenceable large customer software development projects
- Demonstrable leadership skills
- Self-motivated and dynamic, ability to manage stressful situations and come up with solutions under pressure.
- Showing a creative flair with the ability to suggest new service offerings and the development of existing services.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to develop services in line with the strategic objectives of the business.
- Educated to degree level.
- Holder of CMI or equivalent management qualifications
Mandatory Requirements :
- Must have previous experience in a pure Professional Services leadership role
- Must have experience in this type of role specifically in a Systems Integration, Software or Vendor type of business
- Has to demonstrate a personality & character (roll up the sleeves, get into the weeds when required etc)
