Job Title:Project Manager - Shared Rural Networks (SRN)Working With:Functional Manager(s) for the successful end-to-end delivery of the Shared Rural Network - Extended Area Service Project.Role Overview:The Project Manager will work under broad direction and be accountable for the delivery of agreed network benefits, contractual landmass coverage, and scope within time, cost, and quality constraints. The role requires effective control and governance of projects through industry best practices, including the management of risks, issues, and dependencies. Building relationships with key stakeholders and executing effective communication plans are essential. Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Prepare baseline management documents (e.g., Project Brief, Project Definition Document) in conjunction with Project Assurance roles and agree them with the SRN Programme Manager.
  • Lead and motivate delivery teams and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain records such as the Issue Register, Risk Register, and Lessons Learnt log.
  • Liaise with the government, and external acquisition and build suppliers.
  • Establish behavioural expectations for team members.
  • Managing information flows between directing and delivering levels of the project.
  • Oversee the production of required project deliverables, ensuring overall progress and resource use, and initiate corrective actions when necessary.
  • Establish and manage project controls, monitoring, and reporting.

Essential Skills, Knowledge, or Experience:

  • Effective leadership and communication skills, projecting competence and credibility.
  • Experience of running projects in large organisations where time to market and cost are critical success factors.
  • Experience working in environments of change involving mitigation planning, new processes, and cultural change.
  • Stakeholder management skills at a senior level.
  • Driven and focused, with a high level of performance and resilience against delays.
  • Willingness to challenge the status quo and adopt innovative delivery mechanisms.
  • Proven track record of delivery and achieving results through people in a matrix delivery team.
  • Proven capability development track record.
  • Structured, methodical, and detailed conscientious planner.
