Overview:
Our client, a successful commercial business based in Manningtree, is seeking to hire a Management Accountant. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial reporting and ensuring effective control of the company's finances to support informed decision-making. Strong collaboration and communication with all departments are essential for success in this position. Key attributes for candidates include teamwork, integrity, discretion, accountability, and enthusiasm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain management accounts and reports to provide timely information for business decisions.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager and PM Estimating & Construction teams to ensure prompt issuance of payment applications.
  • Manage debt collection to support company cash flow.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and prepare daily cash flow reports.
  • Handle CIS deductions.
  • Oversee sales and purchase ledger management, including raising sales invoices and approving purchase invoices while maintaining accurate records.
  • Prepare monthly payroll in coordination with the HR Manager to ensure correct data input.
  • Prepare month-end supplier payments for final processing.
  • Process VAT returns accurately and on time.
  • Manage company credit card expense claims using Concur.
  • Assist with completing supplier questionnaires and vendor packs as needed.
  • Prepare year-end audit documentation, ensuring timely availability of all necessary information.
  • Adhere to the Quality Management System (QMS) and promptly report any non-conformities.
  • Perform additional ad-hoc tasks as required.

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Proven experience in a similar role within the manufacturing or construction sectors is highly desirable.
  • AAT/ACCA qualified or working towards qualification.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with experience in Sage 200, Salesforce, Concur, and Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
