Are you an experienced HR professional looking to make an impact in a dynamic law firm? We’re excited to offer an opportunity for a passionate HR Advisor to join our client, one of the leading law firms in the East Midlands, with offices located across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.

In this full-time, generalist position, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the expanding business. Reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer, you’ll be involved in the day-to-day management of HR services, while also contributing to the longer-term development of the function.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting recruitment activities, including advertising roles, shortlisting candidates, arranging interviews, and managing agency relationships to deliver a positive candidate experience
  • Conducting new starter inductions
  • Managing and reporting on absence, ensuring policies are followed and supporting managers with long-term absences, including working with Occupational Health consultants when needed
  • Coaching and advising managers on employee relations across the employee lifecycle
  • Conducting exit interviews and maintaining HR policy documents
  • Supporting performance management processes
  • Leading recruitment activities, managing internal and external job postings, liaising with agency partners, and attending interviews
  • Assisting with the training strategy by researching courses and occasionally facilitating training sessions
  • Advising on employment law and best practices
  • Handling employee relations issues such as disciplinaries, grievances, and redundancies
  • Producing monthly HR reports and metrics to measure performance and impact

Within this position, you’ll also be:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in HR, with exposure to recruitment processes
  • Up-to-date knowledge of employment law and its practical applications
  • Proven experience managing a range of generalist HR responsibilities
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to influence and coach managers effectively
  • Excellent stakeholder management abilities
  • A full driving licence and access to a car, as regular travel to all our office locations across the East Midlands is required
  • Proficiency in IT, including experience using Microsoft Office packages
