Job Opportunity: Fire Door Project Manager
We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced professional to join our team as a Fire Door Project Manager. This role will involve managing Fire Door projects, which may be part of larger remediation schemes or stand-alone Fire Door projects. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in the sector and a deep understanding of relevant standards, including BS8214, with the ability to manage all aspects of Fire Door installation and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain detailed Door Work Schedules
- Obtain and analyze Fire Door Test Data
- Possess a thorough understanding of BS8214 standards
- Create and manage procurement schedules for fire door materials and services
- Conduct Fire Door Surveys and compile detailed reports
- Compare client door data with survey data and produce comparison schedules
- Ensure all work complies with FIRAS accreditation where applicable
- Manage Resident Liaison, especially in cases requiring access to private residences
- Raise Technical Queries and manage non-compliance issues through Request for Information (RFI) processes
- Oversee joinery labour and external resources as required
- Implement Quality Plan for all Fire Door projects
- Conduct regular quality audits to ensure high standards
- Liaise with the Project Management Team, especially on larger remediation schemes
- Train and develop Site Managers to ensure competency in overseeing fire door installations
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- Proven experience managing Fire Door projects, with a solid understanding of relevant regulations and standards
- Familiarity with FIRAS accreditation and quality systems
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage both internal teams and external resources
- Excellent communication skills, particularly with resident liaison and client teams
- Ability to develop and mentor Site Managers for competency in Fire Door installation
Location & Travel:
The successful candidate will ideally be based within commuting distance of our Mansfield headquarters, with the expectation of being in the office once a week. As a national role, occasional overnight stays may be required. The company will provide accommodation and cover all travel expenses, including a company vehicle.
