Toolmaker

Hello,

My client based in Mansfield is looking for a Toolmaker to join their highly skilled team of precision engineers within a low volume high precision small and friendly family business and working environment.

Duties:
- Operate/Set up CNC machines to produce precision parts according to specifications
- Read and interpret engineering drawings
- Select and install appropriate tooling, fixtures, and attachments for each job
- Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and efficiency
- Make adjustments to machine settings as needed to maintain accuracy and productivity
- Inspect finished parts for conformance to specifications
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with machine performance or programming

Skills:
- Proficient in CNC operating and setting
- Strong understanding of machining processes and principles
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Experience with CAD/CAM (Solidworks) software for creating or modifying programs
- Knowledge of tooling selection, setup, and maintenance
- Attention to detail and ability to perform precise measurements using various tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers)
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machine issues
- Good communication skills to collaborate with team members and supervisors

Experience preferred with any of the following:

- Eroding

- Turning

- Working with Mould Tools/Extrusion

- Low volume precision parts

Please note that this position may require occasional lifting, experience with assembly, hand tools, basic math skills, or materials handling is a plus.
