SEN Teaching Assistant 

Mansfield 

Up to £500 per week

Connex Education is currently working with several SEN schools within Mansfield and surrounding areas. The specific Special schools and Alternative Provision Units in question are recruiting for passionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a full-time basis starting in September. 

You will be working with children between the ages of 5 and 18 years old, with a key focus of increasing opportunities for all people with disabilities and SEMH needs. We have asked for passionate and dedicated individuals to join and make a real difference! 

As a successful SEN Teaching Assistant you will have experience working in a care or education background, you will be able to attend interviews and trial days this side of summer before a prompt September start. You will work between the hours of 8:30am-3:30pm. If you have experience working with adults or children with autism or complex needs, this is a fantastic and rewarding opportunity, for the right candidate it has the potential to extend to the rest of the academic year. However, we are aware that these hours may not suit everyone, Connex Education and the school are happy to discuss this at interview.

Holding a Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.

Person Specification

  • Have experience of supporting pupils with Special Needs either in a School or a similar setting
  • Strive for excellence and go the extra mile!
  • Be willing to provide personal care
  • Be confident in working with challenging behaviour
  • Have a current DBS on the update service or willing to provide a new one
