GSL Education are currently working with a popular and successful SEN school based in Redditch who are seeking a Classroom Assistants to work closely with Primary aged pupils with SEN needs. The successful candidate will be a joining a warm, inclusive, and motivated team.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. 

Role: The successful applicant will be responsible for providing 1:1 support to learners with additional learning needs and teachers by undertaking a range of non-teaching duties, including classroom administration and practical tasks such as contributing to the preparation of teaching materials in order to assist with the promotion. Reteaching and reinfo rcing concepts for struggling pupils, helping with classroom setup, supervising students etc.

The person we are looking for will have:

  • experience that is appropriate to working with children in a learning environment
  • Has experience working with children in Schools or other childcare provisions
  • Will have worked with vulnerable individuals (children or adults)
  • an awareness of children/young person’s development and learning
  • excellent interpersonal skills in order to build relationships with a range of staff, children, young people and their families and carers
  • the ability to implement behaviour management strategies, in line with the school’s policy and procedures
  • Available Monday to Friday and can commit to 8:30am – 3:30pm school days

Candidate must have DBS on update service or be willing to take out a new one
