Accounts Senior - Corporate / General Practice - Chartered Accountants - £50k-£60k (DoE) + benefits

Due to the growth of our client’s team, we are looking for an ACCA / ACA qualified (or almost qualified) Accounts Senior, with c3 years general practice experience and good working knowledge of UK GAAP, to join the Corporate Services department of an established Chartered Accountancy firm in their Cambridgeshire office.

The Accounts Senior will be responsible for undertaking a variety of General Practice assignments including accounts preparation and tax compliance for a range of clients.

Your focus will be small and medium sized companies and you will lead the team on the accounts preparation, tax computations and audit fieldwork.

Standard hours are Monday - Friday, 9am-5.30pm, although the hours can be worked around the company’s core hours of 10am-4.30pm, and our client is embracing hybrid/flexible working!

Key responsibilities as the Accounts Senior will include:

  • Providing accounting services for a portfolio of clients
  • Producing VAT returns and providing an in-depth knowledge and advice service to clients
  • Preparing self-assessment tax returns and business and partnership tax returns
  • P11D and other payroll advice and services
  • Processing client records
  • Attending clients’ premises and assisting with audits when required
  • Preparing and submitting Companies House forms
  • Liaising with clients, developing strong business relationships and identifying opportunities for additional services

What we’re looking for:

  • ACCA / ACA qualification; nearly qualified will be considered
  • Solid work experience in a general practice accountant role, ideally c3+ years
  • Solid working knowledge of UK GAAP and disclosures required for both small and medium sized companies
  • Knowledge of the ISAs and experience in leading statutory audit assignments
  • Confident communication skills with the ability to liaise at all levels
  • IT literate
  • Excellent attention to detail and accurate numerical skills
  • Proactive team player
  • Willingness to develop and learn
