The company:

You will be joining a well-known manufacturing company specialising in packing and processing. Due to continued expansion and a movement within the company, they are now seeking an experienced Health & Safety manager.

The main responsibility of the job will be to provide health, safety & environmental advice, guidance and control to the site, making sure everything is compliant in accordance with the health and safety law.

Reporting to the Operations Director, the ideal candidate will have extensive experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing/engineering environment with experience of managing and working with and implementing ISO14001 environmental management systems.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Create and continually maintain a safety-first culture throughout the site.
  • Improve the overall view of health and safety on site, ensuring all employees engage.
  • Facilitate and manage the ISO14001 Environmental Management System.
  • Monitor performance against Environmental accreditation requirements and ensure legal compliance
  • Ensure the provision of accident/ incident / minor accident and near miss statistics on a weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual basis as directed.

Skills and Experience required:

  • Experience in a similar role within a manufacturing/production/engineering environment
  • Experience and confidence in carrying out health and safety procedures such as toolbox talks and risk assessments
  • A minimum requirement of a NEBOSH General Certificate in Health & Safety and prepared to study for a NEBOSH Diploma
  • Experience in managing and delivering ISO14001 Environmental Management
  • Ability to drive change within a large organisation
