The Shift Operations Technician role comes with a salary of up to 62,800 + private medical + benefits.

Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Shift Engineer you will:
  • Respond to operational demands, ensuring the plant is operated safely and efficiently whilst always working within the environmental and safety limits.
  • Work flexibly and without close supervision within the constraints of your ability and authorisations.
  • Carry out fault-finding, problem solving and first line maintenance on plant, particularly during nightshifts and weekends.
  • Suggesting modifications and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain operational documentation, records, and procedures.
  • Apply isolations under the company safety rules, ensuring the equipment is safe to be worked on.



Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
  • Apprentice trained or HNC qualified in a relevant craft (electrical / mechanical / process engineering etc.)
  • Experience working in the operations team in a power station, with a strong preference for CCGT experience.
  • Shift Team Leaders and ASTLs looking to move into CCGT from other industries / technologies would also be considered.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety rules, and any experience with applying isolations / issuing permits is beneficial.



Personal skills
The Shift Operations Technician role would suit someone who is:
  • Able to work independently, or as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated and keen to progress within the industry.
  • Happy to work at height, in confined spaces and drive mobile plant with the correct training.
  • Able to work a shift pattern including days and nights.
