Line Leader

Location - Margate

Salary - £12.21 per hour

Temporary to permanent

Our client a food manufacturer, is looking to recruit a Line Leader on a temporary to permanent basis. This is a lovely company to work for, they value their employees and have created a great working environment.

Shift hours are either:

  • Monday - Wednesday, 5 am-3 pm and Thursday, 5 am - 2:30 pm

OR

  • Monday - Wednesday, 1 pm-11 pm and Thursday, 1 pm-10:30 pm

OR

  • Monday - Wednesday, 7 pm-5 am and Thursday, 7 pm - 4:30 am

As the Line Leader, your responsibilities would include:

  • Supervision of the premises and staff during the shift including the security of the property while on site
  • Oversee staff clocking in/out - noting any lateness or absences, and reporting them to the Manager
  • Reporting staff absences - ensuring sick notes are presented
  • Taking instructions from the Site Manager or Production Manager concerning work to be carried out
  • Take ownership of organising staff and production run so that work is carried out sensibly and efficiently
  • Ensuring machinery is working correctly and efficiently. In the case of any queries, breakdowns or problems that cannot be solved contact the Site Manager, or Maintenance Engineer
  • Oversee the efficient production and packing, ensuring that work is undertaken within the relevant legislation and company production procedures, including, Health and safety at work, Food Safety regulations, based on HACCP principles & Quality control
  • Apply where appropriate the disciplinary procedures of the company up to verbal warning, reporting in writing to the Site Manager any action taken
  • Proactively maintain all appropriate records
  • Ensure appropriate storage of all raw materials and finished goods to maintain optimum quality
  • Ensure adherence to the company Health and Safety advice whilst at work and report any concerns to your H&S representative

Specifications for the role of Line Leader:

  • Will have had previous experience in leadership roles in a manufacturing setting
  • Must be well-versed in basic HACCP and H&S practices
  • Will be experienced in quality control of final products produced
  • Ability to coach and direct team members is an essential skill requirement
  • Will hold experience in disciplinary procedures and coaching for improvement
