Food Production Team Lead

Location: Margate, Kent

Shifts: Afternoons - 13:00 - 23:00 ~ 37.5 hours a week

Salary: 12.21 per hour

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Team Leader to join our clients Food Production team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and leadership skills to support the shift supervisor in ensuring the safe and efficient production of high-quality food products.

Key Responsibilities:

Check the quality of products, including weights, measures, and bake profiles

Supervise and manage team members, providing guidance and support

Ensure production targets are met consistently

Monitor shift performance targets

Ensure Health and Safety procedures and policies are followed at all times

Conduct spot checks on all processes from mixing to packing finished products

Encourage and develop team members to achieve their full potential

Report food safety and quality issues as they occur

Ensure hygiene standards are met for pre and post-production activities

Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards and ensure they are followed by the team

Process and complete documentation accurately for safe production and full traceability

Ensure the bakery is audit-ready at all times

Report machine breakdowns and defects following the correct procedure

Attend SIC review meetings and provide feedback on performance

Conduct performance reviews for team members at the set frequency

Communicate relevant information to team members, such as actions from near-miss reports

Identify training requirements for the team and yourself and communicate them to the line manager

Qualifications and Skills:

Previous experience in a food production environment

Strong leadership and communication skills

Knowledge of food safety regulations and procedures

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production targets

Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities

Team player with a positive attitude

Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

High attention to detail and quality standards
