A Shropshire based food manufacturing company are looking to recruit a multi skilled Maintenance Shift Supervisor / Manager for their production facility based in Market Drayton. This company is seeing significant growth and development to become one of the leading food manufacturers in the UK!

As a Maintenance Shift Supervisor you will lead and manage your shift of 4 engineers who provide engineering support to the production area and are responsible for reactive and proactive maintenance of plant, equipment, and any auxiliary systems.

Role:

  • Multi skilled with electrical and mechanical knowledge
  • 4 on 4 off Days and Night shifts (rotating)
  • Opportunity to work in a modern manufacturer
  • Approx 70% on the tools and 30% office for paperwork and reports etc

Key responsibilities of Maintenance Shift Manager:

  • Assist team to work towards maximum plant and equipment efficiency so downtime is minimised
  • Ensure planned engineering tasks are delivered on time and in full
  • Ensure good repair / manufacturing practices and procedures are followed
  • Ensure completion of planned maintenance documents / CMMS
  • Work closely with production staff to achieve daily targets
  • Contribute to cost reduction initiatives to drive efficiency and process improvements
  • Ensure all work competed by engineering team is documented in a daily shift report
  • Monitor, and approve time sheets for the team and perform general HR duties such as return to work interviews, investigations and individual 121 performance reviews.

Experience and skills required ofMaintenance Shift Manager:

  • Qualified maintenance engineer with C&G’s or NVQ Level 3 or ideally ONC / HNC level
  • Multi skilled, mechanical and electrical skills / experience
  • Apprenticeship trained
  • Team Leader experience or good experience to show ready for the next stage in career
  • Proactive attitude to solving issues and supporting production
  • Manufacturing / production experience required
