We’re seeking a Junior Surveyor to join the Market Harborough-based team, specialising in bespoke joinery projects from manufacture through to completion. Their projects focus on commercial fit-outs and refurbishments, delivering exceptional craftsmanship and quality.

The Role

As a Junior Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing project financials, ensuring budgets are adhered to, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and subcontractors. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop within a supportive and dynamic environment.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is methodical and numerically adept, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Takes a conscientious approach to work, striving for accuracy and quality.
  • Has strong communication and negotiation skills, able to think on their feet.
  • Possesses excellent IT skills, particularly in Excel.
  • Has a joinery background - advantageous but not essential.
  • Is approachable, professional, and capable of handling queries confidentially.
  • Can manage client relationships and generate sales opportunities when needed.

Key Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing project financials and preparing initial cash flows.
  • Analysing quotations from installation teams and ensuring material/subcontract expenditure stays within budget.
  • Identifying, pricing, and justifying variations and scope changes.
  • Preparing and submitting monthly payment applications.
  • Promptly agreeing final accounts upon project completion.
  • Resolving contractual and commercial issues efficiently.
  • Managing and chasing outstanding retentions in line with subcontract orders.
  • Compiling and submitting fortnightly CVRs to the management team.
  • Maintaining up-to-date project accounts and keeping clients informed.
  • Collaborating closely with the project delivery team to maximise profitability.
