Responsibilities:
- Manage the harvesting process to achieve quality and quantity targets.
- Train, mentor, and supervise pickers and supervisors.
- Plan staffing levels.
- Assess crop conditions daily and adjust staffing plans accordingly.
- Ensure proper graze picking to maximize crop yield.
- Maintain high product standards (weight, size, quality).
- Organize daily operations and ensure orders are fulfilled.
- Enforce food safety, health & safety, and compliance standards.
- Monitor picker performance and address underperformance.
- Report issues and drive continuous improvement.
Skills Required:
- Experience in mushroom picking or harvesting.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to assess crop conditions and plan accordingly.
- Organizational skills for scheduling and logistics.
- Good IT and numerical skills for reporting and analysis.
- Understanding of food safety and health regulations.
- Problem-solving skills for addressing operational challenges.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to business needs and work varied hours.
