Eaton Syalon are working in partnership with a business in Derbyshire who are looking for a talented Assistant Accountant to join their finance team on a 12 month fixed term contract. You can expect to be working in a well-rounded role, with a supportive finance team who are keen to recruit someone with experience who can support them. As the business continues to grow, they are looking for a dynamic individual who has a passion for finance. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements, including profit and loss reports and balance sheets.
  • Handle accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions.
  • Reconcile bank statements and accounts
  • Support the month-end and year-end closing process, ensuring all financial information is correctly recorded.
  • Assist with payroll processing.
  • Provide general support to the finance team with ad-hoc tasks and reports.
  • Liaise with external auditors and other stakeholders as required.
  • Help streamline processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Candidate Profile:

  • AAT qualified or working towards.
  • Proven experience in a similar accounting role.
  • Strong knowledge of financial processes and accounting systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • A proactive and positive attitude with the ability to meet deadlines.
