COMMERCIAL MANAGER / SENIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR

We have an opportunity available for a freelance Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a forward-thinking specialist contractor within the infrastructure sector. Based from Derbyshire, we are seeking an experienced and committed professional for a 6-12 month contact.

The Commercial Manager will be responsible for managing NEC contracts, collaborating with project teams, and providing expert guidance on contract interpretation. This role requires a proactive individual who can identify risks and opportunities while maintaining strong working relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.

Responsibilities Included
- Manage and oversee the administration of NEC contracts with key clients and sub-contractors.
- Collaborate with project teams to resolve commercial issues and support decision-making processes.
- Review subcontractor monthly applications for payment and assess the progress of works.
- Prepare and present commercial reports to senior management.
- Monitor project financial performance, including budgets, forecasts, and reporting.

Skills and Attributes
- Proficient in NEC 3 understanding and application.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to influence and manage stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS, CIPS) is desirable.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Quantity Surveying, or a related field; a master's degree is a plus.
