Night Shift Maintenance Fitter - Monday to Friday

Alecto Recruitment is looking to hear from experienced Mechanical Fitters and Engineers from the quarrying or recycling industry who would be interested in a Night Shift Maintenance Fitter role.
This is a Monday to Friday position working 40 hours per week. Hours of work are 21:00 - 06:00 Monday to Thursday and 21:00 - 03:30 on Friday. Holiday allotment is 20 days + bank holiday entitlement.
Role Profile
- Play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and reliability of quarry equipment and machinery during the night shift.
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a variety of quarry machinery and equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and conduct preventative maintenance to reduce the risk of equipment failure.
- Collaborate with the production team to schedule and prioritize maintenance tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work and report on equipment performance.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests to minimize production downtime.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
Desired Experience
- Able to work a night shift pattern on a Monday to Friday basis.
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Fitter in a heavy plant, recycling or quarry setting.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings and manuals.
- Experience with welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, and heavy machinery.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a quarry environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Relevant trade qualifications or certifications in mechanical fitting or engineering.
