Shifts: 8:00am-5:00pm Mon-Thurs, 8:00am-3:00pm Friday

Salary: £30,000 - £37,000 per annum (Dependent on experience),

Location: Commutable from Nottingham, Derby, Loughborough.

Toolmaker Responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for making precision tools including jigs, moulds and dies. These will be used in the manufacturing production process to make our uPVC products.

  • Read engineering drawings to produce parts by using Lathes, drills, milling machines and grinding machines.

  • conducting test runs with completed tools to ensure that parts meet specifications and adjust where needed.

  • Fitting and assembling parts to make, repair, or modify dies, jigs, and tools using machine tools and hand tools.

  • You will setup and operate conventional, CNC or NC machine tools such as lathes, WEDM machines, milling machines, and grinders to cut, bore, grind, or otherwise shape parts to given tolerances and specifications.

  • You will inspect finished dies and calibrators for correct fittings, surface finish, contour conformity, and defects.

Toolmaker Essential Skills:

  • Apprenticeship or above in Machining or engineering related qualification.

  • You will be able to use precise measuring instruments.

  • Understand the strengths and characteristics of metals and other materials. As well as what the different cutting tools can do when working with a variety of materials and knowledge of manufacturing processes.
