Bookkeeper

CMD Recruitment seeks a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our client's team in Melksham. This is an excellent opportunity to play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health and efficiency of the business.

In this key position, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial accounts at all times. Your responsibilities will encompass the timely processing of both receivables and payables, contributing directly to the smooth financial operation of the company.

You will collaborate closely with department heads as well as the Senior Bookkeeper, enabling them to provide clear and insightful financial statistics to the leadership team. Furthermore, you will be instrumental in ensuring the company adopts and upholds best practices to meet its contractual obligations and commercial objectives, all while maintaining a commitment to service quality and environmental responsibility.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Meticulously processing all staff expenses.
  • Efficiently managing staff credit cards and ensuring all prior monthly transactions are completed by the following month.
  • Accurately keying purchase invoices, particularly during month-end processes.
  • Proactively monitor the accounts inbox and respond to general financial queries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Regularly send out customer statements and diligently reconcile supplier statements.

Your Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in accounts administration.
  • Proficiency in SAGE accounting software.
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach to work.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 5 days a week approximately 6 hours per day with flexible start and finish times.
