Three Bridges Recruitment are proud to partner again with a public sector organisation in the Borders. This organisation is looking for a Finance Business Partner to work closely with senior members of staff across numerous teams. Collating information, analysing and reporting back. This role is remote with occasional travel to the Scottish Borders. This role is looking for a candidate with public sector experience, comfortable getting stuck into a role autonomously from the start. This role will initially be a 6-month contract.

Focus: Financial Management and Strategy, public sector experience strongly preferred.

Job

The role of Finance Business Partner will give you the opportunity to be involved with the following:

  • Member of senior leadership team, ensuring financial direction and agreed plans are maintained
  • Advise other members of senior leadership team on financial matters
  • Assist with the implementation of the year’s budget to ensure targets are met
  • Support stakeholders within other public sector organisations
  • Produce accurate and robust financial reports to ensure board is able to identify areas requiring corrective action
  • Assist in development of new costing system to be utilised across all departments, ensure it is budgeted and monitored
  • Assist in the design and operation of new budgetary controls
  • Contribute to short-, medium- and long-term financial strategy
  • Ad-hoc project work to improve financial management and utilise evolving technology

You

As a Finance Business Partner, you will be skilled &/or qualified in the following:

  • Educated to degree level with a professional accountancy qualification
  • A minimum of two years' post-qualification experience in a senior financial role
  • In-depth understanding of financial procedures within public sector
  • Proven experience in financial management, budget control, and financial modelling
  • Advanced IT proficiency, especially in financial data manipulation and spreadsheet modelling
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Leadership qualities with the ability to earn respect and influence change
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills with a focus on strategic financial planning
