Performance Analyst (Contract) // Local Authority // Statutory returns // initial 3 months contract // circa £350/day (Umbrella)

REED Technology are working with a local authority who are seeking a skilled Performance Analyst to join our team on a contract basis. The successful candidate will support high-quality children’s social care data and business intelligence analysis, with a focus on statutory returns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop Business Intelligence systems and tools.
  • Produce, analyse, and submit performance and statutory returns.
  • Support inspection preparation.
  • Deliver a high-quality business intelligence service.
  • Provide business intelligence to Council managers and partners.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure Equality, Diversity, and Human Rights considerations.
  • Promote evidence-based decision-making.
  • Improve business intelligence efficiency through automation.
  • Develop effective working relationships.
  • Provide high-quality performance and statistical information.
  • Assist in developing ICT systems for dashboards and databases.
  • Extract and manipulate complex data for analysis.
  • Interpret and apply national guidance on statutory returns.
  • Maintain knowledge of data systems and quality.
  • Develop innovative reporting approaches.
  • Review statistical publications for benchmarking.
  • Create performance reports and dashboards.
  • Ensure data quality improvements.
  • Prepare data for audits and inspections.
  • Stay updated on business intelligence developments.
  • Attend meetings to highlight data findings.

Experience Required:

  • Providing performance analysis reports and dashboards.
  • Presenting data analysis clearly.
  • Advanced use of IT packages.
  • Working with large datasets.
  • Interpreting national guidance on statutory returns.
  • Contributing to cost-effective service development.
  • Effective communication and partnership working.
  • Undertaking tasks with minimal supervision.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of databases and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of local authority processes and data systems.
  • Knowledge of Children’s Social Care processes and statutory returns.
  • Working knowledge of the Mosaic database or similar.
  • Knowledge of information security and data protection.
  • Excellent IT skills, including Excel and Access.
  • Ability to present data visually.
  • Proficiency in Tableau for data visualisation.
  • Knowledge of data extraction and reporting software (e.g., SQL Server).
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
