Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join a leading gas and electricity connections company. In this role, you will be responsible for selling electrical, gas, and water connections to housebuilders and developers. Additionally, you will identify opportunities for cross selling the wider group’s products, such as EV charging solutions, metering, and data services. Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure that monthly sales, margin and KPI targets are not only met but exceeded.
  • Generation and management of a self-discovered opportunity pipeline as well closing warm leads
  • Tendering activities, and customer negotiation process
  • Ensure that all proposals are prepared and submitted within agreed timeframes
  • Ensuring that all proposals are followed through to conversion with detailed feedback.
  • Provide detailed win and loss analysis .
  • Creating and maintaining lasting relationships with customers, engaging with key individuals to understand their opportunity/project requirements.
  • Understanding customer drivers and incorporating into the proposed solutions.
  • Provide accurate market and sales reports and feedback to support and drive the BD activity

Skills and experience required:

  • A depth of experience and knowledge of the multi-utilities industry.
  • 3+ years’ experience in Business Development within energy/utilities
  • A background in ICP/UIP/IDNO/IGT/utilities infrastructure - Desirable
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Sales and Marketing techniques.
  • Sales and Tender management including customer negotiation and commercial risk mitigations.
