Regional Fleet and Compliance Manager

Location: East Midlands with regional travel to other UK locationsRemuneration: Up to c£50,000 + car allowance / company car & benefits

Are you a fleet maintenance expert with supplier management experience and a passion for compliance and efficiency in fleet operations? This is your chance to drive success in a dynamic national logistics company!

This newly created role offers the opportunity to lead and enhance the regional performance of the fleet. You'll champion regulatory compliance, partner with transport management teams to implement best practices, and proactively manage vendor relationships with leasing and maintenance companies, ensuring efficient and cost-effective service delivery

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all fleet operations in your region comply with operator license, DVSA and HSE regulations.
  • Ensure the fleet is maintained to legal and safety standards whilst ensuring costs are managed effectively.
  • Influence stakeholders to achieve top-tier transport compliance.
  • Implement strategies to enhance performance, safety, and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage relationships with external service providers (leasing companies, insurers, maintenance suppliers).
  • Negotiate contracts and service agreements; manage supplier performance against these agreements.
  • Conduct regular audits, manage driver safety and deliver training programmes.
  • Supervise and support the fleet team and compliance administrator.

Skills & Experience:

  • Extensive knowledge of transport compliance.
  • Experience and knowledge of HGV repairs, ideally gained in a workshop environment
  • Strong stakeholder management and people skills.
  • Experience in commercially driven environments.
  • National CPC holder (desirable).
  • Experience of working in commercially driven environments.
  • Ideally - experience gained in central transport functions and of transport management systems (TMS)
  • Ideally - strong process improvement skills
  • Member of IRTE or Association of Road Risk Managers (desirable)
