Our client are a high profile retailer operating across the UK, Europe, and the US. Due to the business and CEO’s strong commitment to social responsibility, a corporate Foundation was established a number of years ago supporting a number of UK and US based charities.

The Foundation is dedicated to supporting local communities, assisting vulnerable people, and driving philanthropic investment.Our client are seeking an Internal Communications Executive to lead communications for their Foundation, with a key focus on event organisation, charity account management, creation of strategic briefs, and writing articles to highlight the Foundation’s impact.

About the Role

This role will play a pivotal role in shaping internal and external communications for the Foundation, ensuring key stakeholders, employees, and partners are engaged and informed. The successful candidate will be responsible for organising impactful events, managing charity relationships, creating detailed briefings, and producing high-quality written content that tells the story of our charitable initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Event Planning & Coordination: Lead the organisation of key charity and corporate events such as the Brilliant Breakfasts, Palace to Palace bike ride, and internal fundraising activities. Manage all event logistics, stakeholder coordination, and post-event reporting.
  • Internal & External Communications: Develop compelling written articles, newsletters, and social media content to showcase the Foundation’s work and engage employees in volunteering and fundraising activities.
  • Charity Account Management: Build and maintain relationships with strategic charity partners, including The King’s Trust, Crisis, Habitat for Humanity, and food banks across the UK and US. Ensure smooth communication and compliance with partnership agreements.
  • Briefing & Reporting: Prepare detailed briefings for the CEO, trustees, and executive team, ensuring they have clear, concise, and data-driven insights to support funding decisions and strategic planning.
  • Governance & Compliance: Support the Foundation’s governance processes by ensuring accurate financial tracking, reporting, and compliance with charity regulations. Assist in writing and managing the Foundation’s annual report.
  • Employee Engagement & Volunteering: Drive employee participation in volunteering initiatives, track engagement, and manage the internal communications platform for charitable activities.
  • Content Creation & PR Support: Collaborate with the PR and marketing teams to create stories that highlight the Foundation’s impact, securing media coverage and internal recognition.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a highly organised, detail-oriented communicator with a passion for corporate social responsibility, storytelling, and stakeholder engagement. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree and have preferably started their career on a graduate scheme
  • Proven experience in internal communications, event planning, or corporate social responsibility (CSR).
  • Strong writing skills, with the ability to produce engaging articles, reports, and speeches for senior leaders.
  • Experience managing charity partnerships and coordinating multi-stakeholder projects.
  • An analytical mindset with the ability to track impact, engagement, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Ability to work independently, think strategically, and execute projects from concept to completion.
  • High attention to detail and a team-first approach to working with senior executives and external partners.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, internal communication platforms, and social media tools.
