Production Planner

Candour Talent Recruitment is delighted to be working with a leading manufacturing company in Tredegar to recruit an experienced Production Planner. This role is pivotal in ensuring smooth operations within the supply chain, from production scheduling to stock monitoring and supplier coordination. Main Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update the Master Production Schedule (MPS) for all manufactured products to meet customer requirements and optimize production capacity.
  • Create weekly production plans to maximize efficiency and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Generate and distribute all necessary production paperwork and supplier schedules.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to confirm delivery dates, resolve delays, and manage material call-offs.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address any critical issues through regular communication.
  • Expedite critical purchased parts and maintain accurate promise data to meet production needs.
  • Track finished goods stock levels, ensuring alignment with inventory policies and agreed targets.
  • Address and resolve capacity issues, escalating where necessary.
  • Communicate proactively with sales administrators and managers about any potential customer delivery challenges.
  • Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies, delivery queries, and customer complaints.
  • Assist with reporting by extracting and manipulating data from SAP for weekly and monthly reports such as sales forecasts and supplier delivery performance.

Key Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a planning or procurement role, ideally within an automotive or high-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in SAP SCM and Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, at all levels of the business.
  • Ability to work independently, showing initiative and adaptability to meet changing business needs.
