An established and successful company in Merthyr Tydfil are recruiting for a Site Accountant on a permanent basis.
The company has a long presence in the area and have a developed a reputation for excellence due to the quality of their products. Reporting to the companys Financial Controller, this role is responsible for the financial reporting of subsidiaries within the group.
Site Accountant job description
- Responsible for general ledger accounting entries including journal entries for accruals, adjustments, and corrections.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and yearly reconciliations for general ledger accounts, sub-ledgers, stock and Bank.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between accounts.
- Acting as a Finance Business Partner to work with operational colleagues, reviewing costs and margins.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining cost accounting system
- Understand production processes to produce Costings.
- Produce Sales and Margin Analysis reports.
- Producing stock reports and involved in stock take exercises.
- Producing P&L Accounts with commentary and variance analysis.
- Cashflow Forecasting.
- Support finance and business teams with ad hoc analysis or reports.
- Actively involved in planned projects, including an ERP implementation and developing and implementing process improvements.
- Working closely with Financial Controller and deputise in meetings when required.
- Mentoring a small finance team.
Site Accountant person specification
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role.
- Professionally qualified accountant.
- Excellent organisation and analytical thinking skills.
- You are proficient with Office, especially Excel, and familiar with ERP systems.
- A hands-on mentality, ability to work independently with a high degree of team spirit.
