About the role:
As the SEND & Exam Access Arrangements Assessor, you’ll play a vital role within the Additional Learning Support Team. You will carry out specialist assessments and develop tailored support strategies to ensure learners with SEND or other learning needs can thrive. This includes conducting Exam Access Arrangements (EAA) assessments in line with JCQ regulations and working closely with learners, families, colleagues, and external agencies to deliver outstanding support from pre-entry through to programme completion.
You will be instrumental in identifying barriers to learning, contributing to EHCP plans, and ensuring robust, compliant support plans are implemented and reviewed regularly. Your impact will directly support learners to progress academically and personally in a safe, accessible, and encouraging environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting assessments (including WRATs) and preparing JCQ-compliant reports
- Developing and managing ALS plans based on EHCPs, referrals, and disclosures
- Collaborating with curriculum teams, exam officers, and external stakeholders
- Maintaining up-to-date records via internal systems (Pro-Solution)
- Facilitating training and workshops for staff and learners
- Supporting the implementation of inclusive learning strategies across the organisation
What we’re looking for:
- Experience in delivering SEND support and carrying out exam access assessments
- All applicants will be subject to a DBS check as part of our safeguarding commitment.
- A sound understanding of JCQ regulations and the SEND Code of Practice
- Excellent communication, organisational, and IT skills
- A compassionate and adaptable approach with a learner-first mindset
- A relevant qualification in assessing exam access arrangements (e.g. CPT3A or equivalent) is essential
Additional information:
Some evening and occasional weekend work will be required to support events and community needs. All applicants will be subject to a DBS check as part of our safeguarding commitment.
