Your new companyA thriving business based in Rotherham that has gone through massive growth and change, is now looking to expand it's team and is looking to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant. The successful candidate will support the management accounting functions and contribute to financial planning, analysis, and reporting.Your new roleYou will assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, support the consolidation of financial statements, and prepare variance analysis reports providing insights into financial performance. Additionally, you will support in the development of annual budgets and forecasts, reconciling balance sheet accounts monthly, ensuring prompt resolution of reconciling items, and supporting the preparation of monthly accruals and prepayments.

  • The preparation of management accounts
  • Preparation of VAT data and VAT returns
  • Cash flow statements, cash flow forecasts and cash monitoring
  • The production of quarterly reporting
  • Responding to queries
  • Dealing with year-end audit engagements including preparation of relevant files, managing timelines, and resolving issues
  • Monitoring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles

What you'll need to succeedThe ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, be part-qualified / studying towards a professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA), possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and be proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software. You will have previously supported management accounts updating accruals and prepayments, journals, balance sheet reconciliations. You will be looking to develop your skills and experience more and continue budgeting and forecasting.
