Semi Senior Tax Accountant, Swinton

Brearley & Co are a leading independent firm of accountants who have been established for over 30 years with offices in Swinton, Chapeltown, Doncaster, Dinnington and Barnsley.

We are seeking a semi senior tax accountant to join our tax division based in Swinton, Mexborough. The role will mainly cover all aspects of tax compliance, however there will be an opportunity to gain exposure to tax advisory in the future.

The successful individual will be part of an experienced team of tax specialists, assisting the head of tax, you will be responsible for preparing tax returns and delivering a high-quality compliance service to a varied client portfolio, which includes High Networth Individuals, Directors and Self-Employed individuals, duties will include:

  • Preparing and submitting self-assessment tax returns and computations,
  • Preparation of corporate tax
  • Filing corporation tax returns and dealing with queries from accounts staff on corporation tax issues
  • Collate and maintain client information
  • Dealing with client enquiries in relation to their tax issues and liabilities
  • Maintain direct contact with clients, HMRC, solicitors, other accountancy firms, law and professional services firms

Skills and Qualities

  • The successful individual will have a background in an accountancy firm or specialist tax firm in a tax compliance role, either as an experienced Tax Assistant or a Tax Semi Senior, with a minimum of 3 experience focusing in the sector
  • The ideal candidate will be AAT or ATT qualified
