- Location: South Yorkshire
- Job Type: 37 hours per week, 40 weeks of year (Term Time only plus a couple for training etc.)
- Salary: £24,199 per annum (Pro Rata: £20,114)
We are seeking a dynamic Student Development Coordinator to create and deliver an exciting programme of personal development events and activities for our students. This role is pivotal in enhancing the learning experience, building employability skills, and improving life chances for learners. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, and have a passion for student engagement and development.
Day-to-day of the role:- Create and manage a comprehensive programme of personal development activities accessible to all learners.
- Organise, coordinate, and deliver events aimed at developing essential life and personal skills of students.
- Collaborate with learners to identify key topics and knowledge gaps.
- Build and maintain effective partnerships with external organisations for guest speaker sessions.
- Lead learner voice activities and coordinate cross-college enrichment activities, including health, wellbeing, and learning opportunities.
- Develop consistent personal development offerings across the group.
- Engage with external organisations and stakeholders to facilitate student-led activities on topics such as road safety, sexual health, and motivation.
- Work closely with curriculum and student support colleagues to tailor activities to specific campus or group needs.
- Organise events that celebrate student successes and achievements.
- Ensure all activities comply with Health and Safety standards, including effective risk assessments.
- Respond to local and national trends by providing timely awareness information and organising discussions on pertinent issues.
- Conduct focus groups to gather student input for the design of student services activities.
- Lead the Students’ Union Team, fostering the development of clubs and societies influenced by the learners’ voice.
- Proven experience in organising and delivering educational or personal development programmes.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building relationships with students, staff, and external partners.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team across multiple campuses.
- Knowledge of current educational trends and student needs.
- Experience in risk assessment and compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
