Rotherham (regular European travel)

Elevation Recruitment are working with a leading Global business in the alloys sector to recruit a Business Development Manager responsible for seeking out and securing new business opportunities as well as maximising existing relationships.

This is a global sales role with opportunities to travel in the UK, EU and other international markets.

The right candidate will have enthusiasm to learn new things, travel to new places and have the ability to interact and learn from everybody they meet, from customers to colleagues and functional experts and management.

Candidates will need to have the following demonstrable and transferable skill sets:

  • Educated to or experienced to degree level (Metals/ Materials Technology / Chemistry).
  • Experience of selling a commodity or technically based product, and having gained practice of creating differentiation for your products in this market.
  • Ability to discuss technical product details with customers.
  • Commercial judgement – both in terms of selling price and the impact of market movements.
  • Experience of selling long-term agreements and manage long-term relationships with the customers.
  • Excellent communication skills – both externally and internally.
  • Desire to grow both yourself and your business area, with a high need for achievement and desire to succeed.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work under your own direction and with determination.
  • Willingness to travel to visit customers.
