Elevation Recruitment is currently recruiting a CNC Turner on behalf of a specialist machinery manufacturer based in Rotherham

Role: Program, operate, and maintain CNC lathe turning machines.Shift: Mornings – 06:30-15:00 (early finish on Friday)Salary: Up to £32,000Location: Rotherham

Responsibilities:
  • Set, operate, and edit programs on CNC Turning machines.
  • Load/unload parts, ensuring proper tooling, collets, and fixtures are used.
  • Perform CNC operation, inspection, routine maintenance, and cleaning (including fluid checks).
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure accuracy, identifying malfunctions or out-of-tolerance parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and dial calipers.
  • Inspect tools for sharpness and usability, deburr parts, and report any concerns to the Engineering Supervisor.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by the Engineering Supervisor, within your training and skill level.
  • Adhere to company health and safety policies, ensuring all work is performed safely.
  • Follow company procedures, handbook guidelines, and code of conduct.
  • Ensure products meet quality standards before delivery to both internal and external customers.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Requirements:
  • Previous engineering experience.
  • Apprentice-trained (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of industry practices and machining techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
  • Skilled in setting up and operating both manual and CNC lathes.
  • Proficient in programming and understanding G-codes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
  • Competent in using measuring and inspection equipment, including verniers, bore gauges, and micrometers.
