Join the HR Consultancy team at a local council, where you will provide a high standard of professional HR service, meeting customer needs and adhering to HR best practices. We are seeking an enthusiastic HR Consultant to deliver exceptional customer service across various directorates, ensuring high standards of customer care at all times.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking HR advice and guidance.
  • Support Senior HR Consultants and HR Business Partners in all aspects of the team’s work.
  • Handle casework related to all aspects of the employee life cycle including recruitment, capability, disciplinary actions, grievances, Dignity at Work, redundancy, and retirement.
  • Assist in supporting organisational changes across the Council and with partner organisations.
  • Provide advice on the Council’s policy framework, maternity, paternity, and other types of absence.
  • Deliver accurate management information and data analysis to inform workforce planning.
  • Plan and deliver learning events on a range of HR topics.
  • Assist in the development of HR policies and procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation.
  • Proven experience in handling a wide range of HR issues.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to provide data-driven insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in developing and delivering HR policies and learning events.
