HR Project Lead

We are seeking an HR Project Lead for a bespoke project focused on reviewing and potentially revising the Terms and Conditions at the council. This role involves close collaboration with the existing project team, financial team, and legal advisors, and requires reporting to high-level executives including the Chief Executive and Senior Leadership Team.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Develop a comprehensive project plan within two weeks to address the review and revision of Terms and Conditions.
  • Outline and set up pathways/programmes for potential changes, ensuring inclusion of trade unions and other key stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the financial and legal teams to assess challenges and consequences of proposed changes in workforce arrangements.
  • Review the impact of the upcoming Employment Rights Bill, particularly concerning the casual workforce.
  • Provide regular updates and assurances to the Chief Executive, S151 officer, and Senior Leadership Team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Strong HR background with a deep understanding of employment law.
  • Proven project management experience, ideally within a public sector or council environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of terms and conditions, including the Greenbook.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, capable of engaging with high-level executives and diverse teams.
  • Ability to assess and manage the implications of legal changes on organisational policies and practices.
