An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Product Development/Purchasing Professional to join a thriving procurement and supply chain department within the retail sector, based in Rotherham. The role seeks a results-driven individual with a keen eye for detail and a knack for product development and purchasing.

Client Details

Our client is one of the largest and fastest-growing wholesale suppliers of Commercial Vehicle and Trailer parts in the UK. Their range of products exceeds 15,000 references covering all Major Truck types along with an extensive range of Trailer parts.

Description

  • Product Development & Procurement: Assisting with our product development program. Liaising with current and potential suppliers about our parts requirements.
  • Supplier Negotiation: Negotiating with suppliers to ensure we remain competitive.
  • Supplier & Relationship Management: Work with existing and potential suppliers to maintain our high availability and service levels.
  • Inventory & Supply Chain Management: Analysing parts requirements using our in-house system and suggesting/placing orders with suppliers.
  • Product Launch & Marketing: Involvement in product introduction, marketing, and product presentation.
  • Industry Networking & Travel: Will also be expected to meet suppliers face to face and some travel to suppliers/trade exhibitions may be required. This could involve overseas travel!

Profile

A successful Product Development/Purchasing Professional should have:

  • Industry Experience: Proven experience in the Commercial Vehicle/Trailer Parts/Automotive industry
  • Negotiation Skills: Exceptional negotiation skills and confidence in dealing with suppliers, whether face-to-face or over the phone.
  • Organisational Skills: Highly organised and punctual, with a keen eye for detail
  • Tech-Savvy: Strong computer skills, including Office 365, Excel, and Word
  • Bonus: Knowledge of MAM Autopart is a bonus - full training will be provided if needed
