About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and proactive Finance Assistant to join our dynamic finance team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience within the finance department of a £40 million income Group. You will play a key part in ensuring financial stability, supporting sound financial strategy and practice to achieve outstanding results for students.

This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organised, and eager to develop their skills in a fast-paced finance environment.

Key Responsibilities

As a Finance Assistant, you will:

  • Handle day-to-day administrative tasks within the Group’s finance system
  • Process and distribute purchase orders efficiently
  • Manage the finance and procurement mailboxes
  • Assist with sales ledger, purchase ledger, and procurement tasks as directed
  • Support the annual audit of the Group’s financial statements
  • Provide excellent customer service via telephone and face-to-face interactions
  • Work with spreadsheets, databases, and other finance-related systems
  • Undertake other ad-hoc finance-related duties as required

What We're Looking For

  • A keen eye for detail and excellent organisational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to tasks
  • Experience in finance administration (desirable but not essential)
